Janice Page
General Manager

Originally from South Africa, I moved to New Zealand in 2001 and instantly fell in love with Christchurch. One day, while walking down Victoria Street, I stopped in front of the Caxton building and said, “I could work here.” And, as it turned out, that’s exactly what happened.

Caxton needed help with a large project and, luckily for me, required software that wasn’t widely used in New Zealand at the time. I was hired on a three-month contract and I’ve been here ever since!

I started my Caxton journey doing layout work on maths books for Caxton Educational before moving into the design department. There, I had the opportunity to work on an incredible variety of projects, including books, signs, logos and brochures.

In 2005, I was promoted to Artroom Manager and, ever since, I seem to have found myself working in different areas of the building. Each move has been a fantastic opportunity to learn more about other parts of the business, and I’ve always enjoyed the challenge that comes with taking on something new.

In 2016, I became a Director of Caxton, followed by General Manager in 2020, and Production Manager in 2023.

Outside of work, I love travelling, walking my dogs, reading and doing puzzles. I’m also a bit of a true crime fan and can happily lose myself in a good documentary or podcast!
