Recently, we were proud to be recognised as a finalist for the Training Company of the Year award within the New Zealand print industry. While we didn't take home the top honour, being considered alongside some of the industry's best is something we're incredibly proud of.
For us, training isn't simply about meeting industry requirements it's about creating opportunities, building careers, and ensuring our team has the skills and confidence to deliver exceptional results for our customers every day.
A Culture of Continuous Learning
Training is embedded in everything we do. From nationally recognised apprenticeships and health & safety programmes to on the job coaching, mentoring and cross-training, learning is part of everyday life at Caxton.
During the past year our team completed training across a wide range of areas, including:
- Print Apprenticeships
- Health & Safety programmes
- First Aid
- Forklift licensing
- Fire Warden and Fire Extinguisher training
- Chemical handling and spill response
- Manual handling and safe lifting
- Ongoing mentoring and cross-skilling across production departments
By encouraging our team to learn new skills and gain experience across different roles, we've built a flexible, knowledgeable workforce that can adapt to changing customer needs and new technologies.
The Benefits Go Beyond the Workplace
Investing in training creates benefits for everyone.
Our customers receive consistently high quality products and service from a skilled, confident team. Our employees enjoy meaningful career development, greater job satisfaction and opportunities to broaden their skills. As a business, we've strengthened our capability, improved productivity and quality, enhanced workplace safety and built resilience through knowledge sharing and succession planning.
Most importantly, we've created a workplace where people are encouraged to learn, support one another and take pride in what they do.
Looking Ahead
The printing industry continues to evolve, and so do we.
We'll continue investing in apprenticeships, mentoring, new technologies and professional development to ensure our team remains at the forefront of our industry.
Being recognised as a finalist for Training Company of the Year reinforces that we're on the right path. While awards are wonderful recognition, our greatest achievement is seeing our people grow, succeed and build rewarding careers at Caxton.
We're incredibly proud of our team and thank every employee for their commitment, enthusiasm and willingness to keep learning. Their dedication is what makes Caxton the business it is today.
